The Institute

Privacy policy

What information this website handles and how to contact us about it.

This policy covers the Alderwick Institute website and correspondence sent to [email protected]. Effective 20 September 2026.

Reading and searching the website

You do not need an account to read the research. The website code does not use advertising trackers, analytics scripts or a reader database. Search runs in your browser; the search words are not submitted to us. Fonts and illustrations are served with the site.

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website. Delivering and securing a request involves technical information such as your IP address, requested address, time, browser information and security signals. Cloudflare may process logs or use security cookies for those purposes. This is separate from editorial research and is subject to Cloudflare’s retention and processing practices. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

When you contact us

If you send an email, we receive your email address and whatever name, message or attachments you provide. We use that information to handle the enquiry, check evidence and maintain a record of corrections or responses. Email providers also process correspondence in delivering and storing it. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information or confidential material without first agreeing how it should be handled.

We do not add correspondents to a marketing list. We do not sell personal information. A relevant response intended for publication may be quoted or summarised and attributed, but personal contact details are not part of that publication. Tell us if you seek confidential handling before providing sensitive information.

Retention, access and requests

We retain correspondence only for as long as it is needed to address the enquiry, maintain an editorial record or meet applicable obligations. A public correction or reply may remain as part of the publication record. Provider logs have their own retention arrangements. Contact us to ask what correspondence we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern; we will consider the request and explain any limits.

Hosting and email services may process information outside Australia. Do not use ordinary email as a secure channel for sensitive sources. We may disclose information where required by law.

Subscriptions and external websites

The RSS feed does not require registration. Your feed reader may make requests to the website. An email subscription service is not currently connected and this site does not collect subscription addresses. We will identify the provider, consent process and unsubscribe options before enabling that service.

External sources have their own privacy practices. Following a source link takes you to another website. Material changes to this policy will be identified here with an effective date.
